Welcome to the Independent Glass Association's certification program. Congratulations on taking the steps to become certified. On these pages, you'll find information about the certification program, what it means and how to become certified. Questions may be directed to info@igacertification.org.

GOALS FOR IGA CERTIFICATION

  • To improve the level of professionalism on an individual basis and throughout the auto glass industry;
  • To provide recognition to those who have proven knowledge of the general principles and practices of auto glass replacement, customer service and/or management;
  • To educate the public, other auto glass customers and members of the auto glass industry the practice of auto glass replacement calls for special training and experience;
  • To inform the public, auto glass customer and members of the auto glass industry of the qualifications of auto glass professionals;
  • To encourage and assist auto glass professionals in maintaining and increasing their knowledge and competence through continuing education and professional development activities;
  • To encourage auto glass professionals to participate regularly in the various benefits available to IGA members.

ABOUT THE INDEPENDENT GLASS ASSOCIATION

Auto Glass Technician TrainingThe Independent Glass Association was founded in 1994 to meet and advance the needs of independently-owned glass companies throughout North America. Membership is open to all glass companies that do not also provide claims administration services and that have less than 100 locations.

IGA members are located in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and ten other countries. For information about becoming an IGA member, please visit www.iga.org

The IGA is governed by a board of directors, the members of which are elected for a three year term. The Board meets in person twice a year and six times via conference calls. The names of the associaton's board members and its officers appears on its website.

There are four types of certifications available from the IGA:

IGA-certified auto glass technician(CAGT)*
IGA-certified customer service representative(CCSR)*
IGA-certified glass shop manager(CGSM)*
IGA-certified trainer (for more information about this program, please see the trainer handbook)

* IGA requires passage of an examination for these certifications
